Shouldnt the greates Joomla component of them all (namely Joomfish) be supported on the latest and greatest version of Joomla : 1.7?
Is there any road map on news regarding the progress here?
Dont mean it to sound demanding - just really really awaiting this - so I can continue my life with Joomla 1.7.. :=)

tabbed interface for translation
When you change your original a little bit and you have to change that for say 4 languages then you have a lot of navigating to do to accomplish that.
The idea is to choose an original article in the translations overview and have the different languages on tabs. So you can switch fast from one language to another while keeping the article open. You can easily change little things in an article. When you press save. Joom!Fish will notice in which language there is some content and will save those as translations. To make it easy: JoomFish won't check…
115 votesI’m sorry it will not get in 2.1 as it is a bit more complicated as I thought. We will release 2.1 in March 2010 and then this feature is scheduled for 2.2. But we don’t want to postpone 2.1 any further.

get's Joomla! 1.6 compatible
I need Joom!Fish to be Joomla! 1.6-compatible. Is it hard to do that?
59 votesYes it is hard to do this. May not seems like that but Joomla 1.6 took more than 2 years to be developed. Guess how much they changed and how much has an direct impact on JoomFish.
Work in progress.

allows to flip original and translation
When I edit an article in the Joomla article manager however this article is not written in my default language I would like to flip this "original" with the translation. Article in Joomla becomes translation lang A -> translation lang Def becomes Article in Jooomla
54 votesI’m planing to do this for 2.2

Select individual translations to be copied
Automatically overwriting all articles of a language is very usefull. But when you have translated a few articles, this feature becomes impossible. If you don't want to destroy the work already done, you have to manually copy+overwrite al the remaining articles. This is a PITA. So I would like to exclude individual articles from being overwritten, while all others can still be copied+overwritten automatically.

upgrade with one button to new version
I just upgraded / updated JoomlaPack with a built in button and I love it! I assume they used 'install from URL', and I think Joom!Fish could do something alike. They also gave me the warning 'update available or something like that'.
I envision it as the following: you press the button upgrade, then you get a screen asking 'Did you back up?' with the buttons no & yes and if you press 'yes' then Joom!Fish upgrades.
What do you think?
35 votesBased on the thoughts that Joomla 1.6 has an integrated update service I’m wondering if this makes sense for 1.5 releases still.

is able to trnslate virtuemart product type parameters
The content elements provided for virtuemart are a great helper but there is no option to translate product type parameters which is a shame. I have come across some attepts by other users but they were all incomplete and, in a word, inefficient.

Translation acknowledges language parameters
At the moment Joom!Fish assumes that the original content is written in 1 language (default language). This isn't true if you have users from other languages adding articles.
I would like that you could set a default language, and that a user could set per article in which language it's written if it's not in the default language (by using the Joomla! language parameter i.e.) The consquence is that when that article is displayed in the default language, then the message 'no translation available' will be visible (or whatever the admin has set there).
This can also continue to work…
32 votesOk I allowed to change the title slightly.
When an article (actually only articles do have this parameter yet) has set a specific language the Content Localization Plugin will make sure that this article is only displayed in this language. Additionally we will allow that you manipulate this “original” using the standard frontend editing.
The only thing missing is a way to translate the article into a different language from the frontend – thinking about an idea …

reinvigorate with compatibility with J1.6 & ARTIO JoomSEF 4.x
this is desired by many J1.6 users, ARTIO JoomSEF is already working with Joomfish in J1.5 so now upgrade to J1.6 is needed, JoomSEF 4.x is already J.6 compatible!

Anchors when using Search Engine Friendly URLs
The problem is when I have an anchor link
If I'm at
http://site/lang/Item
And I click an anchor link, I'm redirected to
http://site/Item#anchorLang is gone and the page is reloaded!

original content and default language should stick together
It should be possible to stick the original content together with the default language translation so that you don't have to copy the original content to the default translation entry. On creation of a new article it is possible to set the content language in the advanced parameters. If you set this option to a specific language it should be sticked with the corresponding Joom!Fish translation (maybe optional). With this feature it would be less work to do because you don't have to copy a whole article to the default translation.

Includes a custom 404 page
It may sound out of focus but it makes sense for me. The idea is to have a sort of control panel to include localized text and 2 or 3 suggested links on a custom error.php page. As far as I know extensions don't work on error.php so the trick will be to give the user a way to include language related content on error.php
My apologies if this is weird or out of focus.16 votesWhat I can think of is to integrate something to search for a language depended error page. I’ll have a look

Joomfish Urdu Language Pack
Urdu language pack for Joom! Fish can be created. There is already some related work present at:
http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/urdu_pakistan/frs/?action=FrsReleaseView&release_id=949315 votesCan you create these translations for us? We would love to integrate it in JoomFish as well.

link two existing articles and define them as translation
The idea is that a second article might have already be written and this is the existing translation for an other article.
Now the feature would be to select both articles and link them together so that Joom!Fish knows that they belong together and are translations in specific languages.

Split certain settings into advanced and simple
Imagine that you have the power to change everything while translating an item? This could be a very powerful feature, while at the same time could be useless and confusing for a lot of people. Therefore some minor things should go to the so called advanced interface.

Save and translate next untranslated item
When translating an item, it would help if there would be a button next to "Save" or "Apply" that would save the current translation, and go to the next untranslated item directly. Then if a user has to translate many things, they don't keep on having to click "save" then open the next item..and so on.
12 votesThis can be done in 2.3 or 2.4
